Tummy Tuck Scarring Can Be Controlled

Choosing the appropriate level of the tummy tuck scar is a matter of proper surgical planning. We plastic surgeons may not be able to control exactly you’re your scar looks like (that is mostly a genetic thing), but we can control the location of the scars we make. The markings made right before surgery determine where everything (including the pubis) will end up. In order to give patients that scar location that they want I typically have them put on a bathing suit or panties that they want to be able to wear after the tummy tuck. I outline the … Continue reading

Liposuction Safety

The news in recent days reminds us all about the importance of safety when having ANY operation, and liposuction is no exception.  I tell my wife all the time, "it may be cosmetic, but it’s still surgery".  That’s why my office has a Joint Commission certified operating suite (http://www.jointcommission.org/) with state of the art equipment and constant regulation. Furthermore, liposuction is performed simply and more efficiently with local anesthetic only.  It is rare that patients require more than that for a typical liposuction case. Breast Augmentation Decisions – Part I

I am frequently asked what the "best" method for removing unwanted body hair is.  That depends on what you mean by "the best".  In my opinion, this comes down to light based hair removal systems as opposed to electrolysis.  I must say, electrolysis is very effective, but it is also time consuming, expensive, and painful.  Laser Hair Removal may be more powerful than IPL (intense pulsed light) methods is some hands, but again, the discomfort that goes along with it is substantial. The reason I bought my particular machine is that it is without question THE MOST COMFORTABLE AND PAIN … Continue reading

Winter Skin Care: Simple things you can do to look younger

Most people I know are very aware of their skin care regimen in the warm weather, but seem to consider it secondary during the winter time.  I suppose we are all more self conscious during bikini season and tend to let a lot of things go as the weather gets cooler and we cover up more.  Interestingly, skin care seems to go along for the ride. despite the fact that this is the perfect season to have a photofacial, peel or laser treatment.  Below I have listed a couple of basic tips for maintaining (and oftentimes, improving) your skin health.  For all of the services … Continue reading
