Keep in mind that each patient is unique and your results may vary.
This is a 26-year-old woman who had undergone excessive weight loss as well as a previous lower body lift (by me) and asked for a thigh lift at my New York City practice. She said she hated the way her thigh skin would shake and sort of wave back and forth even when she finished walking.
We considered several options but decided on a bikini incision inner thigh lift with liposuction. Essentially, liposuction is used to debulk the inner thighs and then a crescent shaped piece of skin is removed from the inner aspect of the groin extended from the bikini line in the front to the buttock crease behind. It is a lengthy procedure of about 4 hours (to do it right), but when completed it can be very satisfying.
This procedure is not as powerful as some other techniques because it can't remove as much tissue as a thigh lift using a vertical incision. On the other hand, it also seems to be much better tolerated and has a lower complication rate.
