This is a 31-year-old woman who lost about 80 pounds through diet and exercise alone. Unfortunately, she was unhappy with the appearance of her breasts after this process, and she wanted a breast lift at our New York City practice. It is worth noting that she also had a history of giving birth to 2 children, and while I would speculate that this contributed to her ptotic (sagging) breasts, I did not know her before any of this, so I take her at her word. It is her impression that the weight loss left her with breasts that she wanted lifted.
A classic "Wise" pattern breast lift was performed for her. Most people would refer to this as the "anchor breast lift scar". In cases of major weight loss, I find that there is a tailoring problem that is best contended with by making the classic incisions, because it helps to remove all of the excess skin in the area. That enables me to create a better shaped breast.
The "after" photos were taken about 3 months after the operation.
