Eyelid Surgery Case #1490

This is a 50-year-old woman who requested facial plastic surgery to freshen up her eyes. I performed eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) in NYC, which typically involves removal of fat and wrinkled skin in an effort to create a more youthful appearance.

For this woman, I actually did not remove any fat from the upper lids at all. I simply removed the extra skin that was hanging over the eyes and tailored it so that she had a more youthful appearance. The incision for the upper lids is placed right at the upper eyelid crease and typically heals very well.

On the lower lids, however, I did remove fat from all 3 of the pockets we typically find it in. The incision is located just below the lashline and it is essentially invisible to the observer.

Eyelid surgery is one of the most effective ways to look better without a lot of downtime. This patient recovered quickly. She was feeling fine within 3 days and was back to work in 1 week.
