Breast Case #1150

This 29-year-old woman came in with her husband and requested a mommy makeover. It seems that after having 3 children, she wanted (and deserved) to get her body back. Part of the process was to give her breast augmentation with implants. In a consultation at my Manhattan, New York, practice, she looked for implants that would bring her volume back with just a little more "perkiness" than she used to have.

We ultimately chose to use a moderate-profile, "gummy bear" implant from Sientra. This means that even if the implant shell ruptures, the silicone polymer inside will hold its shape and not ooze around the inside of the breast pocket. Incidentally, they come with a lifetime warranty from the company because they just don't seem to break.

These impants are considered to be "form-stable" or "gummy bear" implants and do not leak if ruptured.
