Body Case #6620

This is a 27-year-old woman who was upset by her upper back fat and wanted it removed. I see this problem quite a bit and have tried to fix the problem in several ways. I find it is best to suction both the upper and the lower back (or flank region) in order to minimize the skin creases that this woman displays. It is actually technically a little challenging both in terms of suctioning technique and physical effort.

It is for this reason that I have found the Smartlipo liposuction technique very helpful at my NYC practice. The laser energy helps to melt down the fibrous fatty tissue that is otherwise very difficult to remove with suction energy alone. I also like to use the MicroAire® power-assisted liposuction device for similar reasons.
