Face Case #1404

This patient, a 69-year-old woman, visited me looking for a way to “freshen up” her appearance. She wanted her outer look to match how vibrant she felt inside. After a thorough consultation at my Manhattan office, we agreed that a full (extended) SMAS facelift would help her achieve the natural results she hoped for. She had previously undergone CO2 laser treatment with another provider, so it was important to consider how those earlier results might influence her healing and final outcome.

We performed her facelift in New York under general anesthesia. Her initial recovery was smooth. After two weeks, most of the swelling had resolved, her sutures were removed, and she was feeling positive about her progress. By her three-month follow-up, she shared that “the face I see in the mirror now looks much more like me!” For many patients, my main goal is to restore refreshed features that help them feel like themselves again rather than producing a drastic or unnatural change.
