This is a 31-year-old woman who asked for liposuction for the arms under local anesthesia specifically (I guess she must have seen my website). She said that she did not exercise and frankly, she had no interest in it, which made me laugh a little. Most of my patients have tried everything and come in only after nothing else works, but this woman described herself as a "realist" and just wanted to have nice arms without the struggles of going to the gym and being let down.

While she came in asking for tumescent liposuction, I thought that Smartlipo™ liposuction would be a better option. I perform this frequently for New York City patients interested in toning the arms because I think the Smartlipo laser helps me to get better results than I used to get a few years ago, before I had the device in my office.

It is also worth mentioning that I like doing this procedure with the patients awake because they can actually help me to do my job well. I can ask them to move their arms up or down or twist one way or the other, and it really helps me to see what I'm doing. I theorize that it also helps them get the best liposuction result they can achieve. It's nice that we can work together toward that same goal.

She is now able to wear a variety of fashions in public with the confidence that she looks very slender and athletic. Even if she didn't earn it in the gym.
