Liposuction Case #6740

This is a 44-year-old female marathon runner who said that despite being very active and slender, she hated her thighs for years. She claimed that no matter what she did, her saddle bags and inner thigh fat never went away. She asked for liposuction at our Manhattan, New York, practice to improve what she thought was an unfair situation.

I performed Smartlipo liposuction because I think I get nicer results (especially on the inner thighs) when I use it. A total of 1,100 cc of fatty aspirate was obtained under local anesthesia. The entire procedure took less than 90 minutes (after more than 20 years of stressing about how to make her thighs more slender!).

This case truly illustrates the problem that human beings have with diet-resistant fat. She runs over 30 miles a week and yet was struggling to wear a nice dress or yoga pants because she was embarassed by her thighs, which were clearly out of proportion to the rest of her body.
