Thomas P. Sterry is a very reputable, respectful and amazing surgeon! I was fortunate to undergo his triple play procedure which included chin Lipo, buccal fat removal and cheek Lipo.

Slim face, defined jawline
I usually don’t write reviews unless I’m dissatisfied with a service. However, I feel the need to share my experience with Dr Sterry. I had the triple play at his office and I can tell you I’m extremely happy with results. Dr Sterry and his staff were great. The whole process was very smooth and easy, from the first consultation, to the post surgery appointment. Alex who works with payments, worked with me to schedule a surgery date that fitted my schedule and ensure my care credit info was on file. She also made herself available if I had questions prior to surgery. The entire staff is super friendly, they called me the day after surgery while I was recovering to ensure I was doing fine and met with me via zoom a week after. Dr Sterry is very professional and I felt comfortable during the surgery (I was awake the whole time). It wasn’t painful at all just a little uncomfortable of course since you are getting work done on your chin/face area but totally tolerable and worth it. If you are looking to slim your face or get a define jawline I would definitely recommend this procedure.

I decided I wanted to write a positive review because I went for a consultation for chin lipo / filler. Dr Sterry said he didn’t see anything wrong with my chin or face. I honestly gave him opportunities to upsell me and he simply didn’t take them because he didn’t see anything needing an adjustment on my face. The only negative review was written from a patient who had a similar experience as me. However, I actually respect that the doctor cares more about having good results / doing good work rather than following my will (considering I don’t have a professionals eye). It actually made me consider that I may (and a lot of other women in our society) have slight facial dysmorphia.

Dr Sterry does seem like a slightly sarcastic person so be prepared for that which I kinda like.

Staff: (Alex) never misses a beat. So friendly, on her game, emails and texts answered right away doesn’t matter what time or day it is weekend included.

Nurses:(Meaghan) knows her stuff, makes you feel so comfortable, answers all of your questions, amazing bedside manner. Makes the entire experience amazing. She handles the patient with white gloves. Literally feel like we are besties with our nurse Meaghan . Available to you 24/7.

Dr Sterry: Brilliant man with the best personality. I have seen plenty of doctors and surgeons in my 40+ year life. Dr Sterry is black and white, 100% transparent and truly cares about you, the patient. He doesn’t rush any appointments, he asks for face times to check in on you even when you only want to talk to his nurses, lol. Class act, true definition of doctor patient relationship and what it should be.

Location: Office is perfect and located in an easy accessible area.

I could never find enough words to explain how an amazing doctor and human Dr. Sterry is. I found him through another review and she was spot on. He went above and beyond my expectations and I had a unique revision case that other doctors refused to take on. He even met at his office on a Sunday to address a little concern I had. I have never seen any doctor do that for a patient. My only regret is not finding him sooner to do it right the first time around.

For our 20th anniversary, here’s a review. Social media wasn’t a thing back then so this review is a long time coming.

Dr. Sterry is a phenomenal surgeon who has an equally wonderful bedside manner. I had three consults for surgery after losing 105 pounds but it was never a second thought who I trusted. I had two major procedures eight weeks apart. Dr. Sterry is confident in his skill without being arrogant. He provided realistic expectations for me and 20 years later I have zero regrets. Knowing all I do, I’d choose Dr. Sterry again without hesitation. I even survived the blackout of 2003 @ Mt. Sinai.

The surgery I had done was incredibly difficult and extensive. He wasn’t even phased. Its a true testament to how qualified he is.

Consultation review: Scheduled for surgery in June
I was so nervous to go in for my consultation. Dr. Sterry and his staff (Shivanie and Alex) are amazing. Dr. Sterry was very detailed in the consultation. Once I left the office, my husband and I were discussing the consultation and were left with more questions. I reached out to the staff and we set up another consultation (Virtual). During my initial in person consultation we agreed on neck, chin and check liposuction. After our Virtual consultation, Dr Sterry stated that it would be best if we do a mini neck lift and liposuction. Of course I am scared to go a more invasive procedure, but I trust Dr Sterry to give me the results I really want. I defined jaw line and no more double chin!!! I am scheduled for surgery in June. Will continue to update my journey.

For years I would avoid close up photos and deleted most. I hated my “turkey” neck! At 76 years old you can well imagine how nervous I was to do surgery. Chin liposuction – better and younger
Dr sterry and the team were great. Yes it’s costly but I’m not bargain shopping for facial surgery. I want the best. People are shocked when I show before and after pictures. No one could pinpoint why but just that I looked better and younger. Best 7200$ I have spent.

Top Dr. for Tummy Tuck and Revision Cases!!
I had my first tummy tuck in Nov 2020 by a Dr. in Westchester, NY. He left me with a long vertical scar (in addition to the normal horizontal scar), an odd looking diamond shape belly button and a protruding belly. My stomach was in worse condition after that tummy tuck than before.
I agonized with my ugly, scarred up, protruding belly for almost 2 years. Finally, I set up some consults with several NYC surgeons to see if they could fix my stomach. Could they make my belly button look more normal, get rid of the unsightly vertical scar and finally make my belly flat? All of the doctors I met with told me they could not fully get rid of the vertical scar and they would not touch my belly button. Then, I met Dr. Sterry. He as able to fix all!!!
Dr. Sterry was so nice and he takes his time. I never felt rushed with him like I did with the other doctors. Dr. Sterry was the first surgeon I met with that was confident he could get rid of the vertical scar, make my belly button look more normal and tighten up my stomach, and he did! I am now almost 8 weeks post revision tummy tuck with Dr. Sterry and I could not be happier. My stomach is flat and tight and my waist is tiny. My belly button looks perfect. The vertical scar is completely gone. The normal horizontal scar is so thin and low and unnoticeable. I am thrilled with my results. It took me 2 years to find Dr. Sterry. I a so happy I choose him as my surgeon. He is a skilled artist that is patient and cares about the outcome for his patients. If you are considering a tummy tuck or lipo look no further. Choose Dr. Sterry and you will not regret it!

More than a year later, extremely pleased with how my body looks
I had an a tummy tuck and liposuction to flanks in October 2021 with Dr Sterry and I can say I highly recommend this doctor and his staff.
My personal experience was that I had need of a revision due to disfiguring liposuction I had in 2007. I am (more than a year later) extremely pleased with how my body looks. My scar is nice and narrow, not jagged and is healing well. I think it will be quite invisible someday, as scars often eventually become. The placement is good. The bellybutton is pretty cute and looks real. The liposuction to the flanks makes my body have a nice shape from many angles. To me, getting surgery is a scary idea so I appreciated how this doctor made me feel when we spoke during the consults, before surgery and during aftercare. I always felt like doctor Sterry ( and the support staff and anesthesiologist too!) cared about safety and were super patient with my many moments of anxiety leading up to and following surgery. I really felt taken care of physically and emotionally. I think safety is first but you are also doing a procedure like this to look better and feel good about yourself. This doctor has great skill in achieving beauty and symmetry. He is very professional, competent and confident. I really appreciate everything this doctor did and said and accomplished. Already see a huge difference – excited to see the final results
I’m not sure where to start! I will update this review with photos once I have my 3-month follow-up photo to show final results. I know pictures are what helped me find Dr. Sterry, so I’ll make sure to share mine soon.
This is my first experience with cosmetic surgery, but one I’ve thought about for years. I have always had stubborn fat under my chin, no matter my weight. I wanted a doctor who specialized in chin/neck lipo and excelled in this area, and that’s how I found Dr. Sterry(and on this app!!) Dr. Sterry himself was highly impressive, I appreciated his informative approach, and he educates you along the way. He’s also a straight shooter; it shows me that he cares about my best interest as his patient. I’m a fan of learning the process and felt like I was in safe and experienced hands; I mean, this is my face, after all!! Dr. Sterry is a very accomplished surgeon, which was clear to me, and he has a beautiful office on Madison Ave in NYC. I walked in there nervous but never once felt intimidated. He had humility, humor, and was down to earth, which I find equally crucial as credentials/experience. The staff, from beginning to end, made this experience easy for me. The communication and follow-up with Alex, from scheduling the consult until the day of surgery, were remarkable. During my procedure today, I had the best nurse, and I don’t think I would’ve felt as calm otherwise if she wasn’t there.
I hardly ever leave reviews for anything, which is a shame, but I share that to emphasize how happy I am with today, with allowing myself to do this for ME, and with the Dr, I chose because I really, really picked the best! Could not be happier – look even better than I did before 3 kids
Dr Sterry is amazing and has changed my life. I’m 8 months post tummy tuck and could not be happier. He is one of the few good guys out there- he doesn’t sugar coat things and does what’s best for the patient in the long run. The after care I received was next level. Life changing – now I’m training for my first full marathon
Now that I’m officially 1 year post-op, I can review. Dr. Sterry was fantastic. I had diastasis muscle repair, two hernia repairs, and a tummy tuck (no lipo needed). From the get-go I trusted Dr. Sterryhe was honest, knowledgeable, and answered my questions with confidence. On the day of my surgery I felt very comfortable (the staff were all great!). Dr. Sterry was available day/night if I needed anything (I only needed to contact him once and he was responsive, as promised). When I had diastasis I couldn’t run, exercise with any twists (no yoga) or planks (no core)…. Now! I’m training for my first full marathonlife changing. Outstanding from start to finish – results were a transformation
From start to finish, my experience with Dr. Sterry was outstanding. I had been debating chin lipo for years, and I’m glad I chose such a knowledgeable and talented surgeon. He is a genius and an all-round amazing guy. He listens to what you want (with no judgement) then explains how it can be achieved. No bs, no pretense. If he doesn’t think you’re a candidate for that surgery, he won’t do it and he’ll recommend what’s right for you (even if it means sending you somewhere else). He is intelligent, ethical, and a true master. I was insecure about my jawline for my entire life. He knew exactly what to do and he transformed my profile. The procedure took only a few hours, it was all done in office, I had no pain (took a Tylenol that night and then had no pain the next day onward). He follows up throughout. We live in a fast food world where everything has become transactional…Dr. Sterry is the opposite. He cares. He takes pride in his work. I recommend him with all my heart—happy to answer questions anyone has about what I had done (mini neck lift, buccal fat removal, chin and cheek lipo).

Dr Sterry is a master at his work. He is honest, detailed, and never pushes for unnecessary procedures. He staff always makes you feel like you are at home and extremely accommodating for questions and appointments.

Neck/Chin Lipo Liposuction – Fixing hereditary fat bulge
I am starting the consultation for the removal of the fat under chin. It has bothered me for many years and I want to rid of it asap. I am certain that this is hereditary and I do not want to have it worsen with age. I hate my profile. I hate not seeing my jaw line ever. I’m not severely overweight but my chin makes me seem that way. I want it gone for good!
Just had my chin/neck lipo. I am a little worried though about the outcome. I took Xanax before the procedure and was all set and mentally ready. The procedure started and things progressed with it pretty quickly I did feel slight tickling because I have always had a sensitive neck area and would never even let Drs really touch to examine my thyroid. It got worse as the procedure went along and I started to panic with the sensation of the device hitting my windpipe in my neck a little. Dr was a little frustrated with me as I kept moving my arms and hands and tensing up and he was worried I would mess him up. I read this energy of his and actually got to tears. This was at the last stage of the lipo when he was suctioning the center area. The worst part of the chin actually and I heard him say that the tears affected the sanitized area and shortly after he stopped it. and that was when I was super worried it was not officially done with. That it was stopped prematurely. I asked the nurse and she told me it happens to not worry and that I was pretty much done at that point. but I’m worried he may have done a few more extra passes to make sure it was all clear. So we just have to see.
I was given a compression head wrap and I’m not supposed to remove it for a few days. I’m also on oxycodone for pain.
Can’t really be proud yet of the results. Too swollen! Hope this goes down soon, kinda down on the results so far :'( I definitely think by the 2nd week I’ll be able to show an improved jawline but right now this doesn’t look much diff…

I’ve been unhappy with my lower face and jawline(especially when I smiled) for quite sometime now. After almost getting conned into useless Kybella and even worse, jawline fillers (why would you add to something that you already think is chubby), I decided to check out Dr Sterrys IG to see what his solution to my facial insecurities would be.
As luck would have it, he’s one of the only surgeons that actually lipo the lower cheek. The majority of doctors lipo the neck and remove buccal fact, which give results sure but not in the area I was looking. After my consult, I decided to go ahead with the lower cheek sculpting.
I was given the option to take Xanax but opted not to, because I was going to be nervous regardless. The entire procedure takes about 40 minutes (felt like less). The procedure itself isn’t terribly painful, there is pain during the numbing, but it’s not much worse than lip fillers. It really just feels like a lot of pinching. You get numb really fast and then feel nothing at all. I was actually chatting with Dr. Sterry during parts of the procedure itself.
The first day home I felt pretty numb, even on my ears. It’s not painful to eat but it’s hard because of the numbness. The compression garment is pretty annoying but that’s part of the recovery process so you kinda just deal with it. I was pretty tender along my jawline the next few days, but it really only hurts if you touch the area. So don’t haha. A week out I look the same as I did preop, because of the swelling which takes time to go away. I was really lucky that I didn’t bruise or anything but that depends on the person.

What am amazing and honest doctor! I was advised by other plastic surgeons to undergo face liposuction and other face tightening procedures. I’ve had 3 surgeries with Dr. Sterry. The first one was chin/neck liposuction a few years back. I don’t usually write reviews or post pictures, but I’m so insanely impressed with Dr. Sterry and my results that I felt I truly needed to share my experience.
At the time, I was looking for a surgeon who could perform laser lipo (Smart Lipo or Slim Lipo) on the neck/chin area. I was looking for this particular technique since I’ve seen numerous doctors mention the great skin tightening effects of the laser. After seeing the amazing before and after pictures on Dr. Sterry’s website, I knew I had to schedule a consult. Another reason why I was drawn to Dr. Sterry is that he not only lipos the submental area, but he also lipos the vertical areas on the side of the jaw, giving the jaw a super defined look from all angles. I’ve seen other surgeons only do submental lipo without the vertical sides, and the results are not nearly as great as Dr. Sterry’s.The consult was super thorough, and Dr. Sterry took his time explaining the procedure and expected results in great detail. I definitely did not feel rushed. I had lipo of my abdomen, flanks and lower back with Dr. Sterry 5 years ago. I had paid into the 5 figure range because I wanted to be put to sleep. Let me tell you something about this man and his work…he is HONEST first of all and second NO ONE will know you had anything done. If you are looking for the fake IG look, he’s not really your guy. Update on Laparotomy Scar Revision: I chose the right plastic surgeon
I had finally made the move to proceed with my surgery. It was more extensive than I thought than just a hernia repair and abdominal scar revision. I however chose the right plastic surgeon to do it who is Dr. Thomas Sterry. He did the abdominal wall reconstruction and pretty much satisfied with the results. His staff are pretty great too especially Alex. They are so helpful and very polite and respectful.

I only have great things to say about Dr. Sterry and his skills. I had chin lipo performed about 6 weeks ago and from day 3 after the procedure, I was already so much happier and confident. He is an honest and relatable professional, and did not pressure me in any of my consultations with him. During the procedure, he was communicative and reassuring, easing any anxiety I had at the time. Recovery was a breeze for me. Also huge shoutout to his staff as they are lovely! If you are someone that wants to get rid of lower facial fat, most facial plastic surgeons will very easily consent to doing two things: (1) a lipo of your chin/jaws (aka submental area) and (2) buccal fat pad removal. That’s very standard and IMO commoditized procedure nowadays. The jawline lipo will get rid of the double chin (which is great), but the buccal fat pad removal will result in a… pretty mediocre slimming of your lower face… However, Dr Sterry goes ONE STEP FURTHER TO THE ULTIMATE HAT TRICK of including a third procedure: the liposuction of the LOWER CHEEKS. I consulted ENDLESS plastic surgeons – no one will offer to do liposuction your lower cheeks. They do not have the technique nailed down. They are scared of going into facial territory with a cannula. Dr Sterry is the Michelangelo of this technique though, with his micro cannula. Now let me briefly explain aesthetics and cosmetic procedure effectiveness to you. In terms of making your face angular, the ugly lower cheek fat hiding your jawline is undesirable and stripping it away will give you such a beautiful and noticeable definition. You want volume in your upper cheeks, not sagging lower cheeks. The buccal fat pad removal helps but its power is NOTHING in comparison to the liposuction of the lower cheek fat. The amounts of fat that can be extracted with the former are minimal. But with the lipo… wow. All my friends and family think my face looks so beautiful, delicate, defined. My higher cheeks and eyes now really pop and I no longer have a double chin (thanks to chin lipo) nor lower chipmunk cheeks (thanks to cheek lipo) anymore! THe best part is I healed beautifully and gradually, so the inflammation went away over teh course of maybe 2 months so the slimming down even seemed natural weight loss. Ahh! The bliss

From the moment of my initial consultation for smartlipo of the chin and neck through the actual procedure yesterday, my experience has been far and beyond what I could have imagined. Lipo of the Chin/Neck
Dr. Sterry and his team were incredibly warm and welcoming. They answered all my questions and during the day of the surgery were able to calm my nerves. The procedure was completely painless and the staff made it known that they were available for any follow up even over the holiday weekend if I had any concerns. I am so pleased with my treatment by Dr. Sterry and his team and I can’t wait to see the final results in a couple of months!
Three weeks post, still swollen and a little bruise. Have two indents in the skin on my neck but they’re slowly going away and Dr. Sterry assured me that they’ll disappear with time and to massage them out when I can. Just started to see a major change but I know it’s way too early to see anything significant. Friends and family can see a major difference and I’m happy with all the changes so far!
Still a little swollen and a couple lumps. Doc said that I have more healing to go but I’m already blown away but the results thus far. Definite jawline definition and the angle under my chin has gone much more horizontal (which was my primary goal).

I had a chin implant three years ago with another surgeon and wasn’t quite happy with my chin confidence (thanks for the jowels and double chin mom). Absolutely LOVE and recommend Dr. Sterry and his team. I had smart lipo on my back and flanks (4 liters removed) on 10/8/18 and could not be happier with my results. This is my first review here (and also my first cosmetic surgery/enhancement) I didn’t think I was going to make a review, but considering how much this site and all the reviews and ‘before and after’ pics helped me in doing research and make a decision on which surgeon to choose, I feel like I owe it to the community to return the favor. 🙂
BACKGROUND INFO
I am 27 years old and I have always been very naturally skinny (I weigh about 48 kg / 105 lbs and I am 167 cm / 5’6″ tall, BMI: 17.2) – except for my cheeks/jawline/chin where I have always had stubborn fat that won’t go away even if I lose weight. And I also don’t want to lose any weight on my body. People have always said it’s just “baby fat”, but I am in my late 20’s now, so yeah…
CONSULTATION
I had my chin/neck/jawline liposuction consultation in January, I did tons of research before and finally decided on Dr Sterry. During the consultation Dr Sterry was at first skeptical and unsure if he wanted to treat me, since I am a skinny girl and because he thought I was much younger (he guessed I was 18-19, which is what most people guess to be honest) and told me it was probably just baby fat. After I had told him I was actually 27 and he had squeezed under my chin for a while, he agreed with me that there was some fat that could be removed.
I got a really great vibe and feeling about Dr Sterry immediately, he was very kind, funny and professional, and everyone on his staff is lovely too, so I booked a time for the liposuction after the consultation which would take place a couple weeks later.
THE SURGERY
The weeks before the surgery I had contact with the staff a couple of times. They sent me emails with information and prescriptions for painkillers and xanax (to calm my nerves) for the liposuction. I decided NOT to take any xanax before the lipo, as I felt I probably didn’t need it and also because I was required…

40 Years Old with Excess Fat Under Chin
I’m 40 years old, and originally was thinking about Getting a tummy tuck, however changed my mind last minute and decided why not give my face a little bit of a nip before getting a tummy tuck.
I came across Dr. Sterry, and saw his great reviews plus his before and after pics. I scheduled a consultation and finally saw him April 25th. During the consultation Dr. Sterry took his time providing me with information about the procedure and did not rush me at all. He showed me before and after pics of the procedure and I was very pleased by his work. He made sure to inform me as much as possible. He was great. I felt safe with him. Let’s just Say i booked my surgey for as soon as possible. I was scheduled for May 1st in the afternoon. The procedure went smoothly and fast…and on a scale from 1-10 i can personally say pain was at 0 for me. I felt no pain or discomfort. I am 2 Days post op and feel great only minor pain which is bearable. I am not taking any pain killers, only took them day of surgery. 40 Years old with Hereditary Double Chin
Just got my procedure done today by Dr. Thomas Sterry…his staff was awesome and very helpful with all of my needs and concerns. As soon as i had my consultation i knew he was the doctor i wanted to preform this procedure. Booked my procedure the same day as my consult. The office is nice and very clean. Smart Lipo of the chin, flanks and abdomen
I’m a mom of three wishing for my pre-baby body. I’m not over weight (5’2″ 138lbs) but have always had a double chin which I hate and a belly pouch that even Spanx couldn’t hide. I had my first consult a year ago at Elite Body Sculpture but ultimately did not go through with the procedure because it just didn’t feel right – maybe it was nerves maybe I wasn’t sold on the surgeon. In January I met with Dr. Thomas Sterry for a consult and felt comfortable with scheduling my Smart Lipo procedure. Dr. Sterry was delightful and so were the girls that work for him. My procedure was done on Feb. 16, 2018. I cant say the procedure was painless but it was bearable for most of it. We did my chin first as that was the easiest part. A small incision was made under my chin and behind my earlobes. I wasn’t too nervous as I was given Xanax and Percocet before we started. Was also injected with anti-nausea medication and antibiotics. You feel a pinch when he makes the incisions on your chin and earlobes and a quick burning sensation. Then he inserts the cannula in each incision to administer the solution that numbs you. Thereafter he inserts the laser that burn the fat. You do feel the laser moving back and forth in you chin and a bit of pressure. The laser also makes a popping sound. It reminded me of pop rocks in your mouth. Lol. Once the fat is melted he goes back in with the suction to remove it all. It took about 25 to 30 minutes.
Then my flank were done. Three incision under my pants line were done. One on each butt cheek and one in the crack. The cannula going in to administer the numbing solution was not the best feeling – bearable in more areas then others. Some areas did hurt but once numb the fat melting laser wasn’t that bad u less it hit areas that weren’t numb. A few time I had to squeeze the corner of the table I was laying on. Smart lipo on chin/neck and buccal fat extraction
I’ve wanted this since I was a teenager. Always noticed my chin in shots of my profile, was always self conscious of it. This is really the classic case of ‘no matter how much weight I lost, the double chin would not decrease’ and it has been 100% true in my case; totally genetic (thanks, Dad). Even when I was 120 lbs, it was there. The defined jaw line gods just never smiled upon me.
Originally I just wanted smart lipo on my chin, but after meeting with Dr. Sterry and realizing buccal fat extraction was also an option, I decided to go for it. I tend to gain weight in my face, and jowls are common on both sides of my family, so it felt like the right option for me.
At no point did I feel as though anyone was trying to sell me on anything, either. Buccal fat removal was brought up as a “A lot of patients tend to want both procedures. Totally up to you if you want it or not,” and it was left at that. Dr. Sterry and his team have been nothing short of incredible. Everyone in the office has been welcoming, helpful, professional, thorough, and communicative.
My operation date was Dec. 6, 2017, tomorrow will be 1 week post-op. I will try to update the progressions daily.

Chin/Neck SmartLipo + Buccal Fat Removal (At separate occasions)
Dr. Sterry and his team are amazing! Not only are they incredibly sweet and caring but they are amazing at what they do. I went to Dr. Sterry for two separate cases (Chin/Neck liposuction and buccal fat removal).
The CHIN/NECK LIPO was my first ever procedure so I was really nervous. I wasn’t sure what to expect, how painful it’d be, and how my recovery would feel. After my first consultation I knew Dr. Sterry was the right doctor because he listened to all my needs and explained to me what was and wasn’t possible. He gave me really realistic expectations and I felt really safe in his hands. The day of my procedure was SUPER quick and easy! It was a strange feeling but I felt no pain whatsoever. Recover was also very pain free, only some soreness. I could see my results almost immediately and I felt even better about it knowing I was still incredibly swollen! It’s been almost a little over 3 months and I could NOT be happier!!! I look so much more elegant and I don’t look as heavy as I used to.
I went in yesterday for my BUCCAL FAT REMOVAL consultation and I was so happy because his staff had called me prior letting me know that there was an opening to do the procedure the same day because they knew I was on a tight schedule. It felt really nice to know that they had my needs in mind. 🙂 Of course I took up the offer and the procedure was just as easy as my neck lipo. It was a little more uncomfortable because it is more invasive (inside the mouth), but I have minimal swelling and will be going back to school and work tomorrow. Dr. Rose and staff expressed much empathy concerning my traumatic injury. My husband and I were very impressed with his patient , nurturing and very thorough examination . Dr. Rose took the time to explain in detail the procedures he would take with the reconstruction and revision of all my facial injuries His consultation gave me hope. Amazing, Positive Transformation – Well Exceeded Expectations!
I could not be happier with the result of my neck/chin lipo! Dr. Sterry under-promised and over-delivered! I had been unhappy and self-conscious about what looked like droopy jowls and a froggy profile before the procedure, which made me feel and look old and made me delete every picture of myself. Dr. Sterry said he could not promise I would get the look I sought, but three months later, I am delighted! “There Isn’t a Tummy I Can’t Tuck.”
Those were his words to my husband the day of my procedure lol.
A little about me: I’m 41, petite (5’2) and on the thin side (about 100lb). I have two kids (ages 5 and 9). I had abdominal liposuction but with suboptimal results as it only made my skin loose and did nothing for my diastasis rectus. Even though I looked pretty good with clothes on, I felt self-conscious and wanted to do something about it! I researched about tummy tucks for over two years and it took about that long to convince my husband that it was the right decision for me/us.
I consulted with three other surgeons before choosing Dr. Sterry. I was looking for a surgeon who was excellent with belly buttons, had an eye for placement of incision, and had loads of experience performing this procedure on all sizes of women. The TT photos on Dr. Sterry’s before and after gallery were those I could relate to the most. Also, I kept going back to his gallery and staring at those tummies with awe. I just think his work is very natural. Rumor has it that he will not stop with that belly button until he is satisfied.
Anyway, after my initial consult, they were moving offices and I was sort of forgotten about. However, Dr. Sterry personally called me and offered his apologies, which I very much appreciated.
I am now 3.5 months post op and I’m very happy with my results. I’ll summarize the months for those of you who are interested and considering doing this:
1st month: First three days were the hardest. Not having a BM (despite of taking a stool softener before and after the procedure) was worse than the actual discomfort from the procedure. I stopped the heavy-duty meds after three days and switched to Ibuprofen. Hunched and with back pain and urges to stretch my legs probably marks the first three weeks. I am 27 years old, and I’ve always had this double chin no matter how much weight I would lose. After doing research for over a year, I felt like lipo would be my best option.
I found Dr. Sterry here on Real Self and after all the wonderful reviews I decided he would be the best doctor for me. His website is very informative, as well as his gallery of before and afters.
I went in for a consultation about 3 weeks ago, Dr. Sterry and his staff were amazing. During my consultation Dr. Sterry explained everything about the procedure I was interested in, as well as the other options available. After the consult with the Doctor I filled out the paperwork, and paid for the procedure.
I had my lipo done this afternoon. When I first arrived I met with Dr. Sterry, and again he explained the procedure and had me fill out additional paperwork. I decided I was going to take the Xanax & Percocet. The doctor gave me some antibiotics and 15 minutes later I was in the OR.
Now the procedure itself was very tolerable. I’m the biggest baby when it comes to things like this, and honestly the pain wasn’t as bad as I thought. The worst part was when they put the anesthetic in, but again very tolerable.
I can’t wait to see the results.

26 y/o, Finally Getting a Defined Jawline!
After lurking on RealSelf for about a year now, I’ve decided to get Smart Lipo on my chin/neck area. Currently 140 lbs, but even when I was at my lowest weight 110 lbs a few years ago I’ve always had a stubborn round face and double chin with zero jawline to speak of.

39 Years Old with 2 Kids, and This Belly is Going Down! – New York
I ‘m super excited, I can’t believe that in only 4 weeks this belly will be looking normal again!! It may not look like what I had before having kids, but it would be a major upgrade from what it is now. I have been wishing for this for so many years. Even though I eat healthy, and have exercise a lot, my tummy will never go down. I went from having a washboard tummy to 2 large pregnancies. The excess skin is ridiculous! I can blame it on having 2 c-sections or just bad genes but.. (I will never blame on my babies).
I have my family’s support and I couldn’t ask for more than that. In the past I’ve done a lot of research on surgeons, and obsessed at looking at before and after pictures. At this point in my life I’m not looking to do this to get into a two piece, or look sexy. This is very personal to me. My expectation is to feel comfortable, I love my body with flaws and all, but I hate that I cannot lose the bulge naturally.
I found an amazing surgeon, who not only is a perfectionist, but someone who deeply cares. I thought that I would be super nervous by finally seeing this dream come true but I’m not and he is the reason for that. The helmet was removed and I am bruised on my cheecks and neck but definately not at all as bad as I expected . The drains were removed today but I was given the option of keeping a few more days to speed healing but the drain was annoying me so I chose to remove it. So far I’m very encouraged that I will be happy with results.
Day 2. Not feeling great! Face very swollen and looks like I got beat up. Feeling tightness in jaw and the stiches in my ear feel annoying.
Had visit w doc sterry and he assured me I am still very swollen and all looks ok. He aspirated about 10ccs of fluid from my neck but it’s still huge. I really didn’t want to post pix today but I reconsidered and for you all I’d share. I look monsterish. Very distorted today. Hopefully tomor will b better . Hi all! Happy to be back on Real Self after having my arms lipo’d about 1 1/2 years ago. Time to get rid of this wobbly chin!
Just returned from my consultation with the amazing Dr. Sterry. He’s the doctor that did my arms and they came out perfect. Wouldn’t consider going to anyone else. Super excited to have my surgery date moved up 5 days. My husband and I are going to Honduras in mid April and I’m hoping those 5 extra days of healing will make a difference. Breast Lift/ Reduction- Lollipop Incision. New York City, NY
I went to Dr. Sterry in June for a consultation for the breast reduction I had been dreaming of since my last child was born. At 5’5 155 lbs and after nursing four children, my breasts had gone from a c to a ddd. I was uncomfortable and self conscious. Dr. Sterry took measurements/pictures and asked me what I wanted from the reduction. He listened to all my questions/concerns and answered them throughly. He told me I needed more of a lift, than a true reduction. With the lift he would be able to reduce the size of my breasts and lift them to where they were when I was 16! Sold!! I had surgery on Monday- combined with smart Lipo of the flanks. The staff and Dr. Sterry were amazing and kind before and after the surgery. I went home dazed and pain free. I took my meds as instructed and have not felt any pain or abnormal swelling. I only took the narcotics for two days and then switched Tylenol. Smartlipo of the chin/neck, arms and upper back – Manhattan, NY
I am hoping to eliminate my double chin in pictures and have my jawline more pronounced. I feel like my face has gotten fuller since my tummy tuck (from another Dr), review For the arms, I am hoping they will appear thinner and less flabby. Obviously the right is a lot “chunkier” so getting better symmetry is also something I am looking for.
Added back lipo last minute, in order to remove the armpit roll that appears when I wear strapless.
Dr and staff were very kind and knowledgeable. They had a nice way about them and a reason for everything they did/said.
I am taking my pain meds pretty regularly still, but the pain isn’t too bad, albeit I am light-headed. The worst of it is probably the soar-ness in my arms, which feels likes I did a lot of heavy lifting at the gym. It strains when I pick things up or have to reach but at rest it is just a dull ache. The 2nd worst pain is the boob incision, again mostly based on what position I am in. The face “condom” aka, neck compression garment isn’t too annoying, yet, but I re-adjust it whenever I eat or drink.
I have one or two stitches on the incisions in the front and crease of my elbows, at my chin (over a scar I got as a child), and on my bra line in the back. I also have small incisions w/o stitches at the side of my boob fold and behind my ears.
I have been told my arms look tiny now in the compression garment, so I am hopeful it will all be awesome!
Here are some pictures from last night – please disregard the blemish on my chin, that is not surgery related. Off the percocet today and doing motrin instead. Also, I am working from home as to avoid the hub-bub of the commute. Supposedly I can take off my face garment today, but am afraid, plus I am home anyway so am going to leave it on another full day. 35 Year Old, Scar Revision into a Tummy Tuck – New York

Smart Lipo of Abdomen and Flanks – New York, NY
So I decided against BBL…mainly because I’m only 98 pounds and a bigger butt would look ridiculous on me. I had 3 consults. The third consult was with Dr. Sterry, who agreed that I had good projection in my butt and that lipo of the flanks would help it to stand out more. Now I guess you are all wondering why a 98 pound girl got lipo. Well I’ve always been “skinny fat” and a short torso combined with fat pockets in my flank and lower abdomen has always made me look bigger. I’ve tried all exercise and diets but nothing helps those area.
Today I’m postop Day 1. I opted to do the procedure under anesthesia. I pretty much remember nothing. I woke up and was really loopy and nauseous 🙁 the nausea resolved in about an hour. I had some soup and slept. No real pain yesterday as I was still numb. Today I feel super sore and I’m swollen and bruised. I gather though that this is totally normal. I’m not at the shape I want to be yet obviously, but I can already see that the fat pocket under my navel is gone. I took Celebrex for my pain and it still hurts but it’s not unbearable. I feel kinda like I worked out then got hit with a bat haha.
As far as leakage, I definitely had a lot over night. I changed the abdominal pads when I showered this morning. It seems to have stopped by now though.
I don’t know if it’s just me because I’ve read so many reviews where everyone said their Smart lipo recovery wasn’t that bad but I’m in misery. I’m still super sore and tender a week later and my swelling has not budged. My lower back looks huge and I can’t even lie on it. I’m not very bruised but I’m in constant pain and clearly not recovering very well. Starting to wish I never did any of this

Big Boobs Need To Go!!
I am 18 years young and I have decided to follow through with getting a breast reduction! Like everyone I started developing breast at a young age. I am a 36E at the time now and I would like to be a small C. Back pain, shoulder pain has been experienced for about three years now. I’ve seen two doctors, the doctor I decided on is amazing and I am excited/anxious! The experience of getting everything approved by insurance was not very stressful, it was just tiresome but at the end of it all I was approved. Thankful for the finacial coordinator and the ladies at the doctors office for communicating with me and making the process much easier. RealSelf has been an outlet for what’s to be expected from this procedure and its so helpful. I’m grateful to have a support system from my mother and all my friends. That was fast… My surgery is a little more than a week away; I’m so excited. I had a pre-op appointment with my surgeon this past Friday. I got my prescriptions and I got questions answered; the staff there is so sweet and helpful. They gave me a packet that tells me all the necessary steps to take and what to get and how to get to the hospital. My mother is equally as excited as me! SmartLipo on upper arms, Manhattan, NY
Hi everyone! Tomorrow I’m going for my first smart lipo consultation on my neck/chin and upper arms. I’m in good shape and an advanced yoga practitioner but my upper arms are completely resistant to excersise. I feel they make my whole body appear larger so I’m hoping to finally do something about it! I also have a round face and have always had a fat pad under my chin. Well, with age I feel this has become more pronounced. Hoping that can be fixed as well. More after tomorrow’s appointment!
Just returned from my consultation with Dr. Thomas Sterry here in NY. What a nice guy! Very thorough and honest. Once he took all my pictures he advised me against having my neck/chin done at this time. He said he could do it but didn’t think there was much of a point. Not really that much to take out and my jaw line is still defined. Awesome!
Now on to the arms. He thinks I’m a great candidate for smart lipo on the arms and I have an appointment set for September 22! I’m a bit nervous about the possibility of pain but really excited to have smaller more sculpted arms. It will be nice to see the muscle hiding under all that fat!

Excellent Umbilicoplasty Specialist – New York, NY
Im from St. Louis, and had umbilicoplasty done by a local surgeon after my general practitioner cut through my navel piercing during my hysterectomy. The local plastic surgeon butchered my belly button, so in order to seek out a more positive cosmetic appearance, I found Dr. Sterry, and am so happy I did. We had never been to New York before, so it was a mini-vacation for us. We arrived, and were called back within 10 minutes of my arrival. After taking some pictures, the procedure started. He made me feel comfortable about everything, and set aside 3 hours for my procedure. He is a perfectionist in every sense of the word, so he took his time and used all of the allotted time. I was born with a condition called Gastrochisis where I had no navel & some scarring. I am a 21 year old female from Aus & finding a surgeon who would operate on me was a absolute nightmare. Through doing my own research, I was aware the only procedure to fully correct my condition was a Tummy Tuck. I am a very young patient for this procedure, but I felt so upset with the way my stomach looked, I had no self confidence. I would see surgeon after surgeon in Aus & every single one knocked me back saying that my stomach “would never be better then it is & I could not remove the scarring” – I wrote on a “reputable” surgeons facebook page about my condition & asked if he could help & had people liking what I wrote & laughing, calling me a alien. This surgeon then commented on other comments on the same day I wrote me so I assume he was just ignoring mine, But I was use to this treatment. Also being told that I was “completely normal” & need help. 21 Year Old J to D cup!!
My breast reduction procedure is only a few days away and I am beyond excited! I am currently a J cup (when I actually thought I was a G) and I cannot wait to go down to a ittie bittie C cup. I am absolutely TIRED of feeling self conscious about my breast. I am ready to get rid of the pain of wearing bikinis that strain my neck, and the limitations of wearing backless tops and dresses!
My doctor recommended that I do the traditional procedure (the inverted “T” scape) but I guess I’m fine with that as long as the outcome looks good. What I am most nervous about however is the scarring, and the discomfort during sleep… how many pillows will I need to be comfortable?? I’m scared to see what my breast will look like with the fresh scars, do you guys recommend any scar removal creams or gels to maximize the healing process??
I will definitely upload some pictures for you guys and keep you posted because I think this forum is an amazing outlet for support and receive great advice about the procedure.

I must say I am beyond impressed by Dr. Sterry’s work. For just 3 days after surgery my breast look really good! NO DRAINS!!!! I was excited about that the most. I actually think I might be a small D cup once all the swelling goes down but that is perfectly fine, my breasts are perky and I feel sensation in both nipples. Thank goodness for these painkillers because these zingers are no joke! It’s a constant burning, prickly feeling under the scars which are good signs of healing but are terribly annoying. Dr. Sterry is fabulous. He has operated on me several times. The first time he was called in as a consultant by my general surgeon (who is very well known and could have chosen anyone) because I had a very disfiguring wound that was technically difficult to fix during surgery. Dr. Sterry did such a good job that other physicians comment that they cannot believe my abdomen looks so good; nobody would believe I have had 12 surgeries. I was so satisfied that I decided to have several cosmetic procedures with Dr. Sterry and have had great results every surgery.
