This is a 43 year old woman who had lost a lot of weight with the help of bariatric surgery here in New York City.  She presented asking for a more defined jawline and to "lift" her neck.  I had to explain that a formal neck lift operation is a good procedure, but may not be necessary in her case.  She agreed to allow me to try Smartlipo Liposuction of the neck.

I prefer using laser liposuction on the neck (and in the arms) because I really do believe that it helps to tighten up the skin and soft tissues just a bit.  In my experience, Smartlipo is far superior to classic liposuction in the neck for that reason.  This patient is proof that it helps.  After all, she had a fair amount of loose neck skin before the operation was performed and she has done well.  Her neck skin is clearly tighter and more supple as a result of this operation.
